The ceremony took place at PortMiami, the day after the inauguration of the new, state-of-the-art MSC Miami Cruise Terminal. MSC World America will embark on her maiden season with seven-night Caribbean itineraries, including a call at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve.

The baptism ceremony was held in PortMiami, the day after the inauguration of the new and futuristic MSC Miami Cruise Terminal, already called the largest and most technologically advanced in the world. MSC World America is ready to set sail for its first, highly anticipated inaugural season: 7-night cruises across the Caribbean, with exclusive stages, including the renowned Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve.

Miami, Florida – April 10, 2025 – In the presence of international dignitaries and distinguished guests, MSC Cruises celebrated the naming of its new flagship, the spectacular MSC World America. The ceremony took place at the futuristic cruise terminal in Miami, a symbol of the Company's forward-thinking vision for the North American market. The star of the event was Drew Barrymore, actress and television host, who, as godmother, had the honor of naming the ship, following tradition with the ribbon-cutting and the breaking of a bottle on the bow. At her side were actor Orlando Bloom and the Italian captain Dino Sagani, faces of a moment that combined glamour, seafaring tradition and celebration.

The evening transformed into a truly international event: over 3,000 guests, including VIPs, stakeholders, officials, and journalists from all over the world, attended an elegant gala dinner, enhanced by exceptional performances and culminating in a spectacular drone and fireworks display that lit up Miami's nighttime skyline.

MSC World America is the second ship in MSC Cruises' visionary World class: a technological and stylistic masterpiece that offers a new concept of sea travel. Contemporary design, innovative dining concepts, and immersive entertainment spaces blend with the Company's European elegance and the comfort demanded by American guests.
She is also the first ship in the fleet to introduce the “seven districts” concept: unique themed environments, each with its own atmosphere, experiences, and style, designed to allow guests to experience a tailor-made holiday, where every moment on board is maximized.

Following the ceremony, guests set sail on an exclusive two-night inaugural voyage to the extraordinary private island Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, in the Bahamas.
In this breathtaking natural setting, the MSC Foundation has inaugurated its new Marine Conservation Center with an official ceremony. The center, designed to welcome scientists and students involved in the program Super Coral Reefs, will also be an information point for guests interested in learning about MSC's concrete actions to protect coral reefs, which are increasingly threatened by climate change.

The stay on the island offered moments of pure emotion: from the iconic night show of the lighthouse of Ocean Cay from the beach party with a DJ set, to the afternoon at sea with all the wonders on board to experience and savor. MSC World America will officially depart for its first cruise on April 12, 2025. Embarking from PortMiami, will offer weekly itineraries throughout the season in the Eastern and Western Caribbean, with stops in Puerto Plata (Dominican Republic), Saint John (Puerto Rico), Costa Maya And Cozumel (Mexico), Roatan Island (Honduras) and, of course, the exclusive stop at theOcean Cay MSC Marine Reserve.
